Jets fans chant ‘sell the team’ as nightmare season reaches new low in first half vs. Texans

The Jets reached a new low Thursday night with their blunder-filled first half performance against the Texans.
And their fans had no problem letting owner Woody Johnson know how they felt about the product on the field.
Loud chants of “Sell the team!” echoed through MetLife Stadium multiple times late in the second quarter after the Texans took a 7-0 lead over the Jets.
Fans were also spotted in the stands wearing paper bags over their heads, after the Jets were shut out in the most Jets way possible: Malachi Corley’s 19-yard touchdown run to give the Jets a first-quarter lead was overturned because Corley dropped the ball before he crossed into the end zone.
It was all part of a nightmare first half in which the Jets missed key tackles, and Aaron Rodgers continued to struggle mightily. And the chants were so loud they could be heard on Amazon Prime’s national broadcast of the game.
It‘s very clear now that Johnson’s decision to fire Robert Saleh has backfired spectacularly as the team has somehow found a way to get consistently worse. And all that happened before the season hit its official midpoint at halftime of Thursday’s game.
It’s scary to think about what the next eight-and-a-half games could be for the Jets.
